I counted.. Today it has been 2.5 years since I began to take photo. I am happy; ı am not satisfied with where I am, though. Considering all those spare times at university, ı sincerely struggle to find free time and take a few shots. Fortunately, ı have a chief who likes taking photo at least as much as ı do. In fact, a shipyard is full of interesting frames for a worker photographer who works actually as an engineer (me) but ı am so busy all day long that ı miss those shots: luminous effects during welding, reflections in heap of irons. My shipyard photo collection is limited to 4-5 shots that were taken during my early days in the job. As you can understand, it is unfortunately not that easy to allocate time for my dearest hobby under these hard conditionsL

Sundays… the only day off… those beautiful Sundays give me the feeling of a life-saver thrown for a man in violent waves. How fabulous day it is! Of course if you don’t have to work overtime. I sometimes doL

And.. on those Sundays I dash to İstanbul and follow my steps taking me to wherever I can catch some eye-catching frames. For some the best way to relax is yoga, gym, or whatever it is; for me, it is absolutely to take photo. The sound of that shutter button vanishes all week’s stress.

Sometimes I wish I would have been a photographer. But I believe I wouldn’t be as happy as I am now. Because taking photo is my way of escaping from stress. What if it was my occupation? Where would ı escape? That’s why this is the best—taking photography as a hobby (a demanding hobby
